Random thoughts for today..

No real topic today. Just some things I'd like to gripe about.

1. Sports fans that say "WE" when talking about their favorite team. Can their be anything sadder than a person that thinks because he cheers for a team to win that he is actually a part of the team? "We" should get a new coach. "We" played a good game last week. It is sickening. No human being that doesn't either own or play for a team should get so wrapped up in them that they actually identify themselves as being a part of the organization. Just watch the game on TV and have a beer. Don't get me wrong, I want Tampa Bay to win the Super Bowl EVERY YEAR. But when they won it a few years back....THEY won it. WE didn't do shit.

2. People that don't see motorcycles on the road. Listen, the law clearly says that you should stop and look both ways at intersections. LOOK!!! Motorcycles have their headlight at all times. I don't understand how that doesn't stand out. The problem is: You're not looking! Heck, people don't even stop at the stop sign, and they're supposed to look both ways before pulling out? I don't think so.

3. While on the subject of driving.....get out of my way. Seriously. Just because you're doing 55 doesn't mean you have the right to block the left lane. Move the heck over. The speed limit is the maximum I can go without risk of getting a ticket. It is not the maximum speed my vehicle can go. If I want to risk a ticket, move. And along the same line....if I'm coming up from behind you, don't move over in front of me. Its just the absolute stupidest thing you can do.

4. Yankees fans. Nuff said.

5. Dallas fans. Just as bad as Yankee fans...just a different sport. The difference is that Dallas fans are a pain in the butt 17 weeks a year, and Yankees fans are a pain all year long. Otherwise, both have the same mentality. "We did something good 10 years ago, therefore we are great today". Notice I said "we", because Dallas and Yankees fans are the two worst offenders of this.

6. Government welfare. Sorry, had to throw that in.

7. The Liberal Media. Or The Media. Same thing.

Time to start it up again...

Did you miss me? Of course not. The world didn't even know I was gone. That's OK. I don't publish this for you, the reader. I publish it for me. It gives me a place to vent.

So why don't we get started?

I recently moved away from the Northern Virginia area, and I guarantee you that I have never been happier. There cannot be a bigger armpit in American than Northern Virginia/Maryland/Washington DC. It just sucks rainwater. Its filled with self-serving people that think they have all the answers to life's many questions. But truth is, its filled with idiots. Mainly because it is overwhelmed with "politics". Not just the government, which is bad enough. But also all of the people living there. They get so buried in political drival from every source that they start believing that they themselves have any sense about the political world. And as is the case with most every subject, everyone talks....but most have absolutely no idea about the topic they are discussing.

The worst offenders are those that think that something that is applicable to their particular situation should be made LAW. For example, one guy had a girlfriend that lost her job due to outsourcing. She was a customer service/glorified telephone answerer, and when they shipped those jobs to India, she was released. Somehow, this guy thought that the government owed it to him and his girlfriend to ensure that the company she worked for guaranteed her employment. Therefore the President was at fault for not ensuring that a privately owned company kept one person employed. It was so funny, yet so sad. People have become so dependent upon that government that they start believing that the government owes them employment.

Here's the truth. If a company wants to pay cheaper labor in India to do work....IT IS THEIR CHOICE! The government has nothing to do with it. And I'll bet this same person is now complaining that GM will be downsizing soon. And he'll blame two groups: The Republican leadership in the government; and the greedy people at GM. He will never see that the problem is that the labor unions in Michigan have created high priced cars built by unmotivated people. In other words: expensive crap. But once again, the answer is the same. GM does not owe ANYBODY a job.

Here in Colorado, things are much more reasonable. There is a large liberal voice in Denver, and at the same time the state is considered to be conservative. Meaning, everyone has a say. And nobody treats others like they are stupid. They just discuss things, and then make decisions. Add on a great job, a beautiful home, two horses and a really nice motorcycle, and leaving the DC area turns out to be the smartest thing I've ever done. Hell, just not having to deal with the flaming lesbian anymore is worth moving anyday.
